I'm good at using PowerPoint but new to Storyline. I know this is a basic function so forgive this "dumb" question......
I have 3 objectives on a slide that are bulleted. I put a radio button over each bullet but I don't know what to do so when I click on the button, the objective appears on the screen.
Hey Sue - welcome to Storyline and the forum. It might be easier for someone to help if you can upload your file as it is now. Just use the 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post.
It sounds like you want to do a sort of "click and reveal" interaction: click the button, reveal the objective. You can use states and triggers to accomplish that task. I'm not sure how you have it set up exactly, but I would imagine 3 radio buttons and 3 text boxes.
So for example, Objectives 1, 2 and 3 have an initial state of "hidden." Attach a trigger to Button 1 to change the state of Objective 1 to normal when the user clicks Button 1... and so forth for each of your buttons and objectives.
You are absolutely always welcome to share a mock up of your projects here for more specific help! And to get you started, here is our Storyline 2 User Guide. The E-Learning Heroes community is awesome for design help. We've even got a few great downloads to help get you started.
Thanks for the help and the links! I followed your directions and got it to work. I didn't think to change the state. I'm still not sure about the difference between state and layers.
Think of a person. Their mood is the state, their shirt is the layer, except that the moods are obvious to us all by their skin color.
Another option is to cover the objectioves with shapes that mimic the background, and disappear (using your chosen animation) when the bullets are clicked.

Welcome Sue! No dumb questions here. :)

Hi Sue!
Looks like you have information on states above, so let's share some information on layers.
Layers are a powerful way to add interactivity and branched scenarios to your Articulate Storyline courses.
There are many different ways to accomplish goals in Storyline and layers could probably work as well :)
