I have learning checks after each module with a number variable that adds a number to the variable when the user drops a shape on the target. Sometimes it triggers too soon and the next button appears and sometimes it doesn't appear at all. What am I doing wrong? Does the order of the timeline effect the triggers?
Here's an example. I've had so many issues with this, any help is appreciated.
I had a quick look at your file and, unless I'm missing something, it worked for me. The Next button is only (and consistently) shown if the four items are dropped on the correct targets.
As Michael and Stephanie mentioned, everything works fine in this one slide for me as well. Could you maybe share a few more slides so that we could get a broader sense of what's happening?
Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.
I checked your file, and I was able to drag and drop the items into the correct answers as you have them set up. And if they were placed on the incorrect spot, they snapped back to their original.
Can you please give us some more information as to what you are seeing that is incorrect?

That's the issue! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When I preview the entire project, that's when it seems like it's not working.

Also, as you mentioned it worked sometimes and not other times, I did just want to share a reminder about some best practices while working on Storyline:
Thanks everyone! I re-evaluated my variable and it now works. BUT - I changed the drop targets to images and now it won't accept the correct answer.
