Numeric variable blank after being reset to 0
May 29, 2020
I have a storyline 360 file where the user enters a few numbers, they click to move on and there's a slide with the answer to a calculation using those numbers. I want the user to be able to reset the numbers and restart the calculation. I've set it to reset all of the numeric variables to 0 which works but means that the os appear in the numeric entry boxes and the user has to delete them to enter their numbers the second time.
Is there a way to have the numeric entry boxes appear as blank as they do when the course starts? I've seen a couple of threads saying you can rename the numeric variables but I've tried this and I can't get it to work.
Thanks

Technically speaking, they don't have to delete the o, but your learners may not be that mathematically sophisticated.
another option is to use a text entry box. It can be reset to blank, and ou would just have to use javascript to convert the value to a number.
