Open ended questions
Hi
I am wondering if there is anyway I can create a question for students and they can they type their response. It would be an open ended question that students use their own knowledge to respond.
Thanks
Hello Kiama Community College,
Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like Survey questions will be a good fit for what you are trying to achieve.
I would recommend a Short Answer (responses can be up to 256 characters) or an Essay Survey Question (limited to 5,000 words), depending on the desired length.
To add a Survey question:
1. Open up your current project and navigate to the Home Ribbon.
2. From there, select the New Slide button, then select the Survey Question button.
3. From there, you will open up the window with all of the options for Built in Survey Questions.
4. Select your preferred question option, click the Insert Slide button, and you are off and running!
If you have any other questions, please let us know.
I hope this helps!

Hi there :)
Hopping on here to ask if I add a Storyline block with these questions, will I be able to see people's responses to these survey questions in the rise.com LMS?
Hello Lumen,
Yes you can! Check out this article to know more about how you can track Storyline 360 and Studio 360 courses in Rise.com.
Hope this helps!

Hi there :)
As a follow up question, is there a possibility to create an essay question and when the learner submits their answer, they see all answers that have been provided already by other learners?
Added an example image.
Hi Julia,
Looks like you need a course that can connect to a database to pull up existing responses. There isn't a way to do this in Storyline 360, but if there is a form-based third-party website that can, you can embed this to your Storyline 360 course as a web object.
