Password Checker and Chrome

Feb 14, 2019

Hi,

I'm creating an e-learning module with a password checker (PWC) inside, which I can't share. After putting in a password, the PWC returns the time necessary for a hacker to crack the password. We use AS 360.

In IE, it works as it should. In Chrome however, the PWC interferes with our LMS (CSOD). The Password Manager of Chrome, sees the input of a user in the PWC as an attempt to change the password which we use for logging in to the LMS via Single Sign On (SSO). As a result, when I close the module, a user is kicked out of the LMS and no status change is reported to the LMS about the module.

What we tried already is changing the input field in the PWC to a textfield instead of a password field, but it still gives the same result.

Can somebody provide a solution?

Regards

Wouter

Hello Wouter,

Thanks for reaching out and describing what you are experiencing in your course.

Is the password checker compatible with both Flash and HTML5 output?

It sounds like it may be a limitation within your LMS, but to double check, I'd recommend uploading the content to SCORM Cloud to see how it performs there.

If it performs as expected, I'd reach out to your LMS team.

Hopefully, some fellow community members will be able to chime in with any experience they have with using a tool like this :)
