Pause/Play Triggers when publishing to video

Aug 14, 2020

When I publish to video, a course that contains pause and play triggers for an included video keeps causing problems. The pause triggers work in the published video, but the play triggers cause the unpaused video to start from the beginning again.  They work just fine in a published course.  This only happens when publishing to video.  Is this supposed to happen?

As a workaround, I've duplicated the slide. The first slide includes the pause trigger and I have the timeline end where I would want the video to start playing again. The second slide is a bit tricky because it requires the video to start where it paused on the previous slide but requires the audio to pick up where the previous slide ended. I guess that's not tricky, just a little mind bending.

Long story short, should this happen. It just makes it complicated when the rules are different for how things work depending on how you publish.

Hello Dan!

I’m happy to help!  Interactive triggers won’t work when publishing a course to a video file. It sounds like there might be a different way to determine when the video plays and paused that do not include any user interaction.

It would be helpful to see the project to determine the fix! You can attach it to this reply or share it with us privately.
