Pause timeline issue (bug?)

Oct 22, 2021

Hello!

Storyline Version: 3.56.2619.0
Windows 10

We are using a variable to control "Audio". Actually, we pause the timeline if the Variable = 0.

"Pause Timeline on This slide when Timeline starts on this slide if Audio = value 0"

So if you check the box, each slide will start with a paused timeline (So the audio will not play). This has worked without issue up until recently.

Where it does not work now, is on a question slide with feedback layers. If you answer incorrectly, you get the try again layer. when you close that and return to the question slide, the timeline starts, thus the audio plays.

The process we set up works. It has worked for months. We have done hundreds of courses like this. I believe there is something in an update that has changed something.

We went back to a previous course to test. The AR link we created months ago shows a working version of this process. We opened the course and republished it without any other changes. The new AR link shows a broken version.

I am open to any other testing someone may think is needed.

Thank you Phil, that does work.

Although, it's the opposite of what you would expect. I suspect that since this si a bug, it will hopefully be fixed. So making that change means we would have to go back and remove the band-aid later.

I think we will roll back a version for now. But thank you, It's good to know that we can get around it.

Unless this is logical behavior and I can't wrap my brain around it.

Thanks for reaching out, Karl!

I'd like our support engineers to help determine if you're experiencing a possible bug, so I've opened a support case on your behalf. You should have received an email with a private upload link to share your file if possible. One of my teammates will be in touch soon with the next step!
