Pinch Zoom Causes Crashing on iPad/Microsoft Surface
May 15, 2017
I have a Storyline course that is published as SCORM 2004 3rd Edition. We are launching it from our LMS using iPads and Microsoft Surface tablets. Everytime the user zooms in on on the ipad using Safari, it causes the error "A problem occurred with this web page so it was reloaded" and the module crashes. On the surface tablet, the page goes white and the module restarts. No progress is bookmarked in either case.
Is there anyway I can manipulate the css code to disable zoom on the SCORM package? Crash on zoom is not an option for us as it really ruins the user experience.
I've done a search for all viewport metatags within the SCORM package and can confirm that the user-scalable is set to no in all instances. (e.g. <meta name="viewport" id="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no, minimal-ui" />)
Anyone have a workaround for this? Thanks!

Hi Bridgitte,
I don't know of any code changes you could make to disable this, but I wouldn't expect the zoom to be causing a crash either. Can you tell me what version of Storyline you're using and what OS you have on your iPad? What browser are you viewing it with on the Surface tablet?
