So I think Michael and I understood your first post to mean that you want the sound to play on any random click of the mouse. The example makes it look as if all you need is for the sound to play when a specific button is clicked. There is a trigger that does that: Play media when user clicks ButtonX.
Alyssa created this for me. I want the button to play like the button in this example. The problem is this example was created with higher version than I have and I can not open the file. I do not know how she created it because I can not see it. I can not upgrade to this version because I do not have rights on this computer. IT will upgrade it in about 2 weeks but I need to know how to do this now...
Thank you for your assistance but I can not open the file. I can not get the upgrade until 2 weeks. Can you screen capture what you did or save it in a lower version. I have 360 3.12.14647
I created the file in Storyline 2, you should be able to open it (and Alyssa's example) in SL360. See attached a screenshot of the only trigger I used.

I haven't tried this yet, but you should get this to work by:
1. Add sound file to the masterslide
2. Add a shape, e.g. a rectangle to the masterslide and place it OFFSTAGE
3. Add a trigger to play media file xyz when user click outside rectangle
Just curious, what's the reason for the sound effect?
It is a foreign course. Students click the sound button as often as they need to answer multiple choice question.

I used that trigger but it only plays once. I need it to play whenever the student click the button.

See attached a similar example.

This is what I have but it only plays once. I need the button to play every time the student clicks it.
Here is the published output of the example I attached earlier. For me, clicking the button plays the sound every time.
