Player Skins - Customization question

Dec 15, 2016

Hi,

Can you customize a skin to display an image and not just a colour?

I'd like to incorporate a logo at the top or bottom of the screen but not off in the menu panel.

I'm  new to this. Thanks!

Here is a video on how to change the background of a published project to an image instead of a color: http://cdn.screenr.com/video/e52cd852-d321-4898-b3ba-df8e03a253f0.mp4

A few things - you'll need to lock the player size to optimal. You'll probably need create a graphic with the background color you want, and your logo in the location you want, then set the player borders, etc. to the same color as your graphic so everything blends in.

I've done this for courses in the past and it works great.

An easier option may be to set the player to resize to the browser window and incorporate your logo in a header or footer bar on a master slide so it will show on all slides. With some player color customization, you can get the look and feel that the logo is not actually part of the player.

Hope either option will help.

Thank you! I was hoping to customize the UI/player directly. I'm pretty handy with xml, just wasn't sure if I could set the player skin instead of just a colour and also add a logo to the player itself. Master slide would also work, but was really hoping to make it all encompassing.

Hi Michelle,

Depending on how much you're looking to customize, within Storyline 2 you can use the SDK, but it's for Flash only.

With the standard player you can customize things like colors, and add logos - so you may want to spend some time going through all those options and read through the tutorials before you dig into the SDK.
