Powerpoint Import turns out to be creative

Creative is a good word for it - but the powerpoint import is not a one to one conversion as described here. So you'll want to begin by ensuring you're following those directions to import and then adhering to these general guidelines for working with your Storyline files and powerpoint files:

• Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
• You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
• Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

Can you let us know if you're able to check into those elements and then still experiencing some odd behavior.

first of all, thanks or you warm qwelcome and next: thanks a lot for the description on how to solve mya powerpoint problem. I followed it step by step but unfortunately the result is exactly the same.

Any other proposition for me?

Hi Martin,

Do you have a powerpoint file that we could take a look at and see how it imports? There are some things that won't import exactly as they are within Powerpoint as it's not a one to one conversion, but it doesn't sound like you're running into those elements detailed here.

Also, please let me know what version of powerpoint you're using and Storyline Update. We're currently on update 6.

I just checked my Articulate Version. Looks like I am on updat 5, and when I click on "Check for Updates" I receive the information, that there are no updates available ...

Hi Martin,

You can download update 6 here, and it may not be appearing when you check for updates if you're not connected to the internet or possibly behind a company firewall or security setting. Can you download the update at the top of this link and let us know how it behaves after that?

so it was actually the powerpoint, causing all that trouble. I should have known it before, it really dislike powerpoint. But I thank you very much for your help and all the efforts you have made to solve my powerpoint problems!
