The previous button acts as a browser back button and returns you to the last viewed slide.
If you wish for your prev/next buttons to always move in chronological order, you can manually set the triggers. In addition, we also have a feature request we are tracking to allow users to determine the logic for this button. I've added this conversation to the report as we continue monitoring and so that we can share updates with you here.
