Print Results not working when revisiting a quiz in LMS

May 08, 2013

I am using Moodle 2.3 as my LMS and my Storyline project has been published to the SCORM 1.2 standard.

Once a user has finished taking a quiz, she can print the results and the report generated by the Print Results action shows the total score as well as the individual answers given.

Now if the user starts the SCORM activity all over again, she is not allowed to change any of the answers already given, as the Submit button is disabled on every quiz slide. Once she reaches the Result slide and again clicks the button to print the quiz results, the report shows only the overall score and not the individual answers given.

If the LMS is saving all the SCORM data, then should not the Result report show the individual answers given every time it is run.

UPDATE: After creating this post, I have realized that even if I view the Storyline output outside a LMS, the Print Results is still not showing me answer detail, when I revisit the quiz (by choosing to Resume from saved state).

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ruhul,

You mentioned that this happens even when you view the course outside of the LMS. How did you test this, was it in SCORM Cloud?

If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a look at what's happening. You'll be able to attach the .STORY file on the second page of the following form:

My apologies for responding so late.

The Print Results action does not work fully when you RESUME a course. A report does get printed but it just contains the final score, without any feedback on individual questions.

This is true whether you play the course in an LMS or not. Just exit and replay a course with a quz, resuming it from where you left off and you will see what I mean.

Hi Rahul,

One thing I wanted to ask about this; Are you wanting the user to be able to change the results? If so, resuming saved state will save all the data entered into the course (response-wise). This is also why the user isn't able to choose another answer.

If you're wanting to give the user the ability to retake the entire course, it may be best to have the quiz or quizzes set to reset to initial state when revisiting. Hopefully this will resolve the print results issue, as well.

Would that work for you?
