As Brian mentioned, there's a number of different ways to set this up - the majority are probably based in Javascript. So I'll leave that in the hands of our community experts.
I did want to check where you were testing the published output though? Often testing it locally can cause certain features to not work based on locally security restrictions. You'll want to upload to your intended publish environment to properly test. Take a look at some of the recommendations here.
