Problem with the "Record Screen" feature.

Storyline doesn't have the option to localize the language for the software itself, so I would imagine that is why it's unable to create the special characters as a part of your screen recording from you typing them on the keyboard. Although I'm curious to know what shows up when you do type them? Have you also set Storyline up with a font that includes these characters?

These characters usually work throughout the program. Standard characters are present in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan etc. 

Usually a video recording of my (attached). 

You'll see that I write first to "record sreen" option disabled. After I write the same text with the "record sreen" enabled. See the difference.

Thanks for the video - I don't have a different language keyboard or languages installed so it was helpful to see the behavior and clarify what we were discussing. For the C with tail (for lack of a better description) that one seems to appear normally - and only the E and A characters add the additional elements? To help me narrow down the issue, does it seem that this only occurs with vowels? Are you able to try with other characters and share a video letting me know how they behave and what language you have this set to?

I made a new recording of longer words. I write with the English language!

Hi Artur,

I had one of my colleagues test this using the Alt codes for Portuguese characters similar to in your file. He recorded a video of the behavior and wasn't able to replicate what you shared. As a next step, can you tell us how your generating those characters: i.e., copy and paste from somewhere, is it a standard Portuguese keyboard, a Windows keyboard with a Portuguese setting, using the Alt codes like in the video?

This solution I had found, as I said in the first message. 

But imagine I enter text using these commands? It would be very laborious. In Portuguese as well as Spanish and French, there are many words with these characters. 

I want to type normally without needing these commands. Understand?

I certainly understand, but to further troubleshoot the issue I'll need to know more about your set up and how you are typing these characters? The alt key was currently the only way I was able to replicate it as I don't have a set up for Portuguese. So, can you share more about if you have a specialized Portuguese keyboard? Is it a windows settings? 

My windows is in Portuguese. It is configured with the keyboard language to Portuguese (Brazil) and my "physical keyboard" (where I type), is also in Portuguese (example pictured). Ie, my keyboard has keys with the characters.

Thanks for confirming those elements. I won't be able to test this myself, so I've shared with a few colleagues who may have different language set ups on their computers and/or keyboards. I'm not sure that they'll be able to test today - but hopefully I'll have some additional information early next week.

My memory on this issue is a bit fuzzy - but I don't see where it was reported to our QA team, so I suspect the other team members who had keyboards to try and replicate this on were unable to do so. Are you using SL 1 or SL2? I'm curious if the behavior is different in SL2 since you can localize the language for French, Spanish, Chinese, etc. and then still use your Spanish keyboard?
