good morning
I am trying the PRINT function in ST360.
I created a trigger in the player (in a tab)
it works (I ask for a PDF file) but the problem is that it's very small in the end: I can see the project interface well but it takes up half the sheet and I can enlarge it a little bit before printing.
it's as if it takes into account a larger HMI
does anyone have an explanation
thank you
francois
my slides size is 1920x1080
I display the course on a 2560x1600 screen
and in fact, the impression of the slide is "correct" if we launch the course in a window window whose size will not exceed 1024x720 otherwise it becomes smaller and smaller if we enlarge the size of the window window which contains the Classes
I'm sorry you're having issues while printing! We would love to troubleshoot this for you! Would you be willing to share your file here or with our support engineers privately in a support case?
here is a very simplified version (but the example remains valid) of one of the result pages that we display and whose printing we seek via the green button at the bottom right.
and also the result i get
Good news! After testing your file, I think I found the reason for your print issue. It looks like it might be a print setting and not a Storyline issue. Here is a Peek recording to help you through it.
Hello John
thank you for the answer but indeed, we do not have the same printing window (see capture in PJ). it lacks an option for example in the size and I do not understand what you are talking about for the 3 points at the top right
sorry and thank you very much
Francois
Hello John
new day, new information. With what you told me (thanks again), it gave me ideas.
so I did some tests. The result is very interesting:
with Chrome and Edge, it works
with Firefox (browser of preference), there, it is surprising:
if I use the print of the Storyline course, I have a small image
but if I directly use the "print" command of the browser, it's OK!!
So the question is, what print settings does Storyline use?
knowing that I tried on another PC and there, it works well directly with ST360
interesting no?
Francois
Thanks for the additional information. I can confirm that I was able to observe the same behavior on my end - bigger print image when I use the browser print feature, and a smaller print size when I use Storyline 360's built-in print button.
Here are some of my observations:
The Print slide Storyline 360 trigger only prints the area of the slide
The browser print functionality prints the entire browser area. This is confirmed by the presence of the player button in this screenshot.
I recommend using my colleague John's workaround, which is to increase the scale if you want a bigger image when using Storyline 360's built-in print functionality.
thank you for your messages. for Jean and Joe, I had already tried to modify the scale parameter but it didn't work well. because it seems that the image taken into account is larger than what we see and therefore in my case from 156, the image suddenly disappears. and before enlargement does not work well.
In short, in the end asks people to go through the "print" function of the browser....

Our print windows are different. Try finding the setting by clicking the 3 dots button at the top right.
I hope this helps!
Hi Francois,
I'm sorry. Please ignore the "3 dots" recommendation. Try scaling the image to larger than 100%.
Just so we are on the same page, can you answer the following questions?
Looking forward to your response!

here are some tests with Firefox 109
now print
black rectangle above the slide
now Cancel
the navigation is half closed
now close complete
and print again
now a test with "Landscape"
with "Fit to page with", a blank second page is printed out
with "scale = 65" the same blank second page
with "scale=64"
now the second blank page is gone
and some other problems
- 360° images will not be printed
- videos will not be printed
