I did a little searching around for this, and found a similar thread with the first answer from Peter that:
To upload a course to YouTube, you would need to record a video of your course using a screen capture program, such as Screenr or even Storyline itself, and then upload the resulting movie to YouTube, which would eliminate any interactivity.
Totally understand your thoughts, and I'd suggest if you would like you can submit a feature request. Storyline is designed for a lot of interactivity though, and that's why publishing as one single video file is not a default option.
It is disappointing that its three years since this post - and a very cool new version (Storyline 360) and this is still not available, especially since Adobe Captivate has this ability!
Due to the interactive nature of Storyline content we still haven't included the functionality of publishing it to a single video or MP4 file. Submitting a feature request is the best way to let our team know what you'd like to see and keep track of those items.I'd encourage you to take a look at the workarounds mentioned, as those allow for an easy way to create a MP4 copy of the published output and you could use Replay to conduct the screen recording and then publish that to MP4.
Replay is included as a part of Articulate 360 and with perpetual license purchases of Storyline 2 and Studio 13.

The following blog article describes how you might accomplish this goal (it mentions Presenter, but the same should apply for Storyline):

Hope that helps!
Hi Ashley
Thank you very much.
I did record my preview using capturewizPro - no problem - but kind over over the bridge to get the water.
With all the other great features built into Storyline, I would have thougt that was a direct way to do it, but that is not the case.
