I am wanting to publish my Articulates in SCORM format so that i am able to track students progress and record quiz results embedded within a lesson. This is working fine when i trial it on a computer but the presentations are not loading when i try to access them on mobile devices. I have seen some threads regarding an apple app and tin can api but need something that will work across all devices.
How have you published your course? You can choose to publish for HTML5 and/or the mobile player app as described here. If you're able to utilize the app will likely depend on your LMS and if they support Tin Can API. You'll also want to review the list of supported devices as detailed here.
I have published as LMS SCORM 1.2 for HTML5. I have not selected the mobile player app as we don't currently have Tin Can API and i want to avoid people having download an app to view the materials. To trial it i have been using devices that are listed under the viewing content of the supported devices link you provided.
Thanks for that update. What occurs when you try to open the content on your tablets? Are you seeing a particular error message or does the course not load?
Thanks Edwina. I took your published output and placed it in SCORM Cloud here and tested that on my iPad mini running iOS 8.3 and it loaded in Safari normally and I was able to click through the course. I took a screenshot of how it looked on one slide and didn't notice anything out of place.
Can you test my link and let me know how it works for you and where you're testing it on the iPad?
I am opening it up directly through our moodle page. It is working on the i-pad now but would i be right in thinking that i won't be able to get it working on other mobile devices?
You shouldn't need to use the mobile player app - especially if you're hosting in Moodle, as I don't believe they support Tin Can API which you'd need to access the course in the app. Since I was able to upload that course to SCORM Cloud and play it successfully on my iPad, I would say it's safe to assume you published for HTML5 only.
Have you reached out to your Moodle team to confirm it's being uploaded correctly? If you can share the link to where you hosted it, I can also try that version - but the course itself is working as expected outside of the Moodle environment and on my iPad.
Hi Lea! You are welcome to reach out to Edwina directly via the 'Contact Me' option on her user profile if you wish. Otherwise, I would like to know if you are able to replicate your issue when your course is uploaded to SCORM Cloud. If so, then we would want to take a look at your .story file.
I got it working on the I-pad but in order to only upload one version for every lesson/activity i needed it to work for all mobile devices. For now i have just been uploading as html to our moodle site as that does work on all mobile devices that i have tested.
Thanks for sharing the link to your published course. Like you said, I'm not able to see the image on the slide using my mobile device (iPhone iOS 10.2). What version of Storyline did you use to create this content? Would you mind sharing the .story file here so I can take a closer look at the set up?
Thanks for sharing your file with me. I imported your slide into a new Storyline 2 file, and everything seems to be working as expected now. Here is a link to the published content in SCORM Cloud for you to test on a mobile device. Here is a screenshot from my testing:
Try using the import method, but be sure to change the slide size to 432 x 540 before you import the original file. Let me know if that fixes the issue!

Hi Ashley
There's no error message. I just can't get anything to load - i sometimes get the background colour of the articulate but that is all.
Hi Edwina,
Can you share a link to the published course so that i could take a look at testing it on my iPad as well?
Hi Ashley
Please find the attached file.
Thanks Edwina. I took your published output and placed it in SCORM Cloud here and tested that on my iPad mini running iOS 8.3 and it loaded in Safari normally and I was able to click through the course. I took a screenshot of how it looked on one slide and didn't notice anything out of place.

Hi Edwina,
Are you using Storyline 1 or 2? Storyline 1 only offers support for mobile on the iPad in the mobile player or the HTML5 output in Safari whereas Storyline 2 supports Apple and Android devices as detailed here with those particular browsers.
I'm using Storyline 2 but the presentation is still not opening. Would i need the mobile player app downloading for these devices?

Hi Edwina- I am having the same or very similar problem. Did you ever resolve this, if so how?
Thank you.,
Lea

Hi Alyssa, thanks for the help. I use storyline 2 to create this content.
