Created a number of Hotspot question slides by creating from Freeform.
Using a custom Submit button with appropriate 'Submit interaction when user clicks' Trigger
Player default Submit button turned off.
No feedback layer for Correct answers. Set to go to next slide.
Feedback layer exists for Incorrect answers..
No matter whether I click to highlight the Hotspot or not, question defaults to Incorrect. Question should record Correct when I click to highlight the Hotspot and Submit.
For a Hotspot question with a custom submit button, you'll run into the issue that the click on the submit button is interpreted as the last hotspot click and that of course is wrong and will produce an incorrect feedback.
As a workaround, you need to:
1. Create a layer and add the submit button to this layer
2. On the baselayer, add a trigger that shows this layer when the timeline starts.

If I have a layer with the submit button showing at timeline start, does this interfere with the hotspot on the base layer? Can the user still click on the hotspot in order to get the 'Correct' behavior? I think I don't understand how the layer with the submit button is causing a 'Correct' click to stay a 'Correct' click.
I've encountered a problem with this solution. I need to submit the interaction and generate a score that is to be recorded in an LMS. With the Submit button on its own layer the associated 'Submit interaction' Trigger is unassigned and I cannot choose the appropriate interaction , how will it report the score to the LMS?

Well, I answered my own question by testing your instructions. Yeah, it works. Many thanks, Michael.
