Record after the fact?

Jan 09, 2019

We are new to Articulate. I have created a lesson and now I am being asked to overlay a couple of slides with audio.  Is this possible?  All I have read, shows recording as you are building the slide.  I did pull one slide from the lesson and create a new storyline.  I clicked on Record Screen and the "How to record:" came up, but my entire "Untitled - Articulate Storyline Screen disappeared!

I have attached a copy of the screen prints.

I even tried to see if maybe my software was not up to par.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lynda, and welcome to the Articulate family!  💙

You can add audio anytime during your course building process.  Open one of your slides, and click on the Insert tab.  You'll see that you have the option to add audio from a file, use text-to-speech, or record audio using your mic.  If you choose to record, a recording window will pop up, allowing you to record, playback and then save your narration.

Once you're done recording, you can work with that audio on the timeline so it plays when you need, and you can edit it for refinement.

It looks like you were using the screen recording tool which will create a recording of what you're doing on your monitor.  Storyline temporarily disappears, assuming that you're recording other processes on your screen.

Let me know if I can help more!
