I've been doing some audio recordings in storyline with mixed success. The majority have recorded fine but some have ended up crashing and then the audio file turns into a big red cross in the timeline.
No idea why this might be - the only thing I can think is that it seems to happen more when the recording is over 10 minutes long.
Is there some kind of maximum recording time or filesize issue? or a maximum number of recordings per slide (i'm just capturing several on one slide as it is phone calls i am recording)
I haven't seen a limit to the overall amount of audio that can be included in a slide or a Storyline project, but if you're Storyline course is misbehaving you'll want to check into the following items:
thanks for your reply - i think it might be down to the the saving locally thing as it is taking an age to save to a network drive and seems to crash during the save process. Then again it could be a combination of that and the rubbish PC's we have here (which do exceed the system requirements but aren't the best!)
thanks for your advice will give it a try - so far seems better on the C drive saving idea.
Ah, yes saving to a network drive could be the main issue and you'll want to edit and publish files while working on your local drive to resolve any unusual behavior. Once a file has been published or saved - you could also back up a version to a network drive, similar to how described in this article on working collaboratively.
Thanks that's great - seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed no crashes so far) - thanks for the additional info and the warm welcome to the community

Hi Jon, You should record recordings on your pc and then upload it. this might works for you. and there is no timing or file size issue.
