Recording audio in storyline - crashes and loses recording

Hi Jon, You should record recordings on your pc and then upload it. this might works for you. and there is no timing or file size issue.

I haven't seen a limit to the overall amount of audio that can be included in a slide or a Storyline project, but if you're Storyline course is misbehaving you'll want to check into the following items:

• If you're unable to record audio
• Ensure you're working with all local project files
• The minimum system requirements for Storyline, and you may need to allocate more memory to Storyline or shut down other programs while recording
• Conduct a repair of Storyline to resolve any odd behavior.

thanks for your reply - i think it might be down to the the saving locally thing as it is taking an age to save to a network drive and seems to crash during the save process. Then again it could be a combination of that and the rubbish PC's we have here (which do exceed the system requirements but aren't the best!)

Hi Jon,

Ah, yes saving to a network drive could be the main issue and you'll want to edit and publish files while working on your local drive to resolve any unusual behavior. Once a file has been published or saved - you could also back up a version to a network drive, similar to how described in this article on working collaboratively.
