Recording becomes 'Jumpy'

Hi All

We use simulator tools in our industry to test the software and these simulation tools are great training.  I was hoping to use the Storyline recording tool to capture the key points by pressing the cursor on the screen.  This works really well and will save me loads of time however, as soon as I select the 'record screen' option my simulator tools become clunky, the Storyline application is interacting with the simulator tool and slowing down.

Any ideas please?
