Hello. I have now experienced this several times in different SL files.
After replacing an audio file (mp3) the new file will not play. It does play if I open it in the Audio Editor and play it from there. I've tried several fixes:
Delete the newly replaced file and try Inserting Audio again with the new file
Create a new slide and try adding that new audio file. It will not play on the new slide
I'm sorry you're having issues with getting a new audio file to play. Happy to help!
Have you tried importing the slide with the audio file into a new blank Storyline project?

Thanks Becca. I came back to the file later in the day and was able to insert a new audio file.
