Resizing embedded web objects

Oct 15, 2015

Hey community,

I've been building educational modules in storyline for awhile and I'm curious if anyone knows a solution to my problem. As part of the module, I'm embedding an interactive web page (survey) within the module using a web object.

I can re-size the web object within storyline but the web-page that opens is unfortunately slightly too large (requires scroll bars). I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the web object zoom out (i.e. 75% zoom view) so that my users won't have to deal with the scroll bars in the web object. I don't want to have the web object open in a new browser window.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nathan

Hi, Nathan -- Thanks for your question, and if I am understanding correctly, you would be able to resize directly in SL, but it must match the Story size. If you have the web object set to open in a new window, it will, and you can have it show at full screen. Does that make sense? Please let me know if you need further clarification.

Basically, yes that is my problem. I have the web object taking up the entire "slide" size but that is not large enough for the web-page that the web object hyperlinks. I want to have the web-object "zoom out" on the web-page so that scroll bars are not necessary. As I stated in the original comment, I do not want a new browser window to open. The venue in which this module will be utilized is not conducive for a new browser window to open. So I need to know if there's a way to tackle this problem within the web-object itself, or if I'm stuck with the scroll bars. Thanks.
