Resources are opened in the same window on Tin Can

Hi all, 

was wondering if someone can help me. I'm fairly new to eLearning and articulate so this may be a silly question. The problem I'm encountering is with the resources to my eLearning. The trouble is when a user tries to click on a resource (either in the resources tab or directly via a trigger that is set to open a URL), instead of opening this in a new tab it opens it in the same window that the eLearning is open in, effectively closing the eLearning. The links and triggers are all set to open the files in new windows rather than the same windows and yet when the programme is published, it opens it in the same window. The programmes are published for LMS Tin Can. Is there any way of fixing this?
