Hey all, I am working on a software simulation that has a drag and drop interaction on it. I want the user to be able to drag the "drag item" only horizontally to the target. Is that possible? Right now, they can drag the item all over the screen... up, down, left, right, circles, etc... in the real world, the software I'm simulating only allows the user to drag straight left or straight right.
You could make it a slider instead of a drag & drop. Replace the slider button with the red rectangle and have it move one space to the left.
Michael Hinze figured out a way to restrict the movement of an item in a drag & drop, but I can't remember his solution. You could contact him directly.
