Retrieve learner email address from LRS

Hi,

Is it possible to pull a learner's email address from the LRS into a storyline variable? 

I have read several threads here on how to do this with SCORM, but I would like to achieve this with xAPI. 

I don't have much knowledge of code, but would assume it could be achieved with javascript?
