I created a quiz with a question slide (drawn from question bank) and a result page. On the result page I added a retake button next to the review button. I want to give the users both options.
The review button has it's default trigger "review results".
The retake button sends you back to the question slide and resets the results.
The problem: When I set the question slides revisting properties to "automatically decide" the review is working - the retake isn't. When I set the properties to "reset to inital state" the retake is working - the review isn't.
Am I missing something here? I am quite new to Storyline.
Based on the description you provided, your setup sounds correct so the Review and Retry buttons should be working as intended. Where are you noticing these oddities? Is it after publishing the course or when you are previewing the course?

Yes, did a little more fiddling. When I reset to initial state, the "incorrect" bar shows up on the results slide even when the answer was correct. If I leave as "automatically decide" it works correctly.
I'm having the same issue as the other folks on this thread.
As per your advice, though, if you set the slides to Resume Saved State, what will happen when the user wants to retake the test? It seems like it would work for reviewing the results but not for retaking the test.
I also tried, in another version of this course, to have three separate question banks, and have the retry quiz button branch to those, giving the user three opportunities to pass the test. It worked great, but it doesn’t show the score in the LMS, because, of course, how do you configure the course, when publishing, to submit the passing score out of three results slides?
I put all the question slides back to “Reset to Initial State” when revisiting. Of course, now the Review Results button no longer works correctly. However, the Retry Quiz works correctly, but only when I preview the training. When I publish the training, either to Articulate Review or to our Saba LMS, and click the Retry button, the radio buttons are static (nothing happens when clicking them), and the Submit button is replaced by the Prev/Next buttons. Argh!

I think I may be dealing with the same thing.

Sounds like you're good to go, Melanie :)
We do recommend using Automatically Decide or Resume Saved State to allow the Quiz Review to display the proper results.

Hello there, Desiree. Good question!
When you retry a quiz, that function will reset quiz questions and override the Resume Saved State option.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi Katie,
Thank you for the demonstration. I’ll give that a try and see how it works out. Keeping my fingers crossed! 😊

Hi Katie,
I tried changing the slide property to “Resume saved state” when revisiting the question slides.
Here are the slide properties for all my question slides. Attached is a video of what happens when I fail the test and choose to retry.

I hope you can help me figure this out.
