Roll over animation (cease on media finish) issues - can you help?

Hi all - I have a roll over animation (cease on media finish) issues - can you help? It is basically a bunch of people, you mouse over them (their mouths are animated in a .gif file state) from there I can get it to work where it rolls over and does the .gif animation, but I want to select the person and leave them as selected.

Trouble is when I select them and then roll over them again the animation plays and forgets they were selected.

How do you achieve this where they remember that they were selected? Or stop the animation playing again on a roll over?

I can upload the actual project if it helps.

Thanks guys Appreciate that - Layers make sense, I've added the story to look at... Look specifically at the guy to the left, he should ideally play his .gif animation for 4 loops, then stop. We had it last night on cease after media ends. Worked a treat but its when we we select the character and then want to roll over it again it removes the selection state.

I'm hoping it can do the following:

ROLL OVER - PLAY AUDIO AND ANIMATED MOUTH STATE

ROLL OUT - RETURN TO GREYED OUT STATIC STATE

LEFT CLICK - TOGGLE TO SELECTED STATE ON/OFF

(IF YOU ROLL BACK ON IT KEEPS THE STATE FOR SELECTED OR NOT SELECTED)

CAN IT BE DONE?

Hello Chris!

One thing you could do is add a true/false variable set as "false" to the file. Then have the variable change to true when the character is in there selected state.

Then edit your trigger to play the media on condition that the variable is false. Once the character is selected, the hover trigger wont work again.
