Scenes overlapping and obstructing storyview

Jan 20, 2017

Hi,

I wonder if this has happened to anyone else. I have some pretty large, fat scenes in a few of my projects with lots of branching. I've attached a screen capture to demonstrate what I'm talking about.

Quite simply, sometimes the scenes will overlap so that I cannot see all the slides. It makes it difficult to select slides from the story view.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Best wishes,

Michael

Hey there Michael,

I can certainly see how that would be inconvenient! Does using the zoom feature on the lower right of the window to zoom out help at all?

I would also recommend verifying that your DPI settings are configured to 96 as described over here. If it's set to something else, it can cause some undesired visuals within Storyline 2 such as content overlapping.

Keep me posted!

Hi Ali,

The zoom didn't work on this occasion I'm afraid!

I did have issues with DPI on an older laptop (so I did become quite informed about those issues!), and yes I do have my current setup configured according to the link you kindly provided.

This only occurs when I am branching slides and it can be very obstructing. The only way around this is to slit scenes up which doesn't make sense to me.

Hey Michael!

Thanks for letting me know. That does seem unusual! Since you mentioned seeing this happening in multiple projects you're working on, I'd recommend running this repair on your software.

If you run into any snags or continue to see this issue after running the repair, reaching out to our Support Engineers via this form will be your best bet. They're available 24/7 and will be more than happy to work with you to get to the bottom of this! If you do go that route, feel free to let me know the case number here so I can keep an eye on it too :)
