Score bar

Sep 16, 2014

Hi

can someone direct me into how I would go about doing this. I am building a scenario based eLearning course in Storyline and what I want to do is to add a bar that moves depending on the decisions that a learner makes. e.g. on a screen there are 4 correct answers and only 1 was selected. This will move the score bar to a new position. If the user got it wrong the bar moves backards.

Imagine the bar is on every slide of the course and it moves with respect to what decisions are made on each slide. Each decision point adds and minuses a score which makes the bar react. By the end of the course, if the learner has made all the wrong decision the "change of success" bar will be 0, if all the correct decisions are made the "change of success" will be 100. Any ideas?

Hi Stuart,

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you're looking for, but thought I'd offer it as a start. There is a slider interaction here that you could use and there are a number of custom progress bars in this thread that you could modify to fit your needs.

I hope that if there are other ideas from the community they're able to share here!

Thanks Ashley.

These are close to what I am looking for but I want the progress to act like a score card. If i arrive at decision points and miss the correct decision I want the progress to react negatively, like wise if I get a decision point correct I want it to also react positively.

I am hoping to have a branched elearning module where this "scorebar" shows how good the decisions you made were.

Did any traction ever happen with this? I am looking for exactly what Stuart mentioned. I find that the Slider behaves erratically when I try to set the position of the slider according to a variable.

My questions are weighted (right answers give you 10 points, mediocre subtract 10, bad answers subtract 15, etc...).

The user starts at 50 points on a 0 - 100 scale and moves according to the weighted selections. The slider resides on the base layer of my main timeline.

I've found that the slider jumps around to nonsensical values from slide to slide when the slider is not referenced on any other slide.
