Scoring Variable for a series of quizzes

Nov 04, 2020

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me with this.

I have a SL360 file with 4 different scenes. Each scene has a series of questions that are focused on a specific topic. The user has to complete questions in all 4 scenes.  The scoring is working correctly to provide the correct results.

For these questions, we don't provide instant feedback after a user completes each question. Instead, we wanted to provide them the percentage of questions they answered correctly for each section at the end of the course on the Results slide (along with their total score which I know Storyline is already calculating).

  • For example, the learner is required to answer 7 questions in Section 1 and 3 questions in Section 2. Let's say they answered 5 right in Section 1, all 3 in Section 2. I want to display that they answered 72% correctly in Section 1 and 100% in Section 2.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this? I created the variable for each section but am having very little success setting the variable when the user selects the correct answer.

Hi Anthony and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you would like to create with your project.

The built-in variables sound like they would fit your needs. Each scene/quiz in your project should have its own result slide, which means it will have a Results.ScorePercent variable to reference.

I've made you a quick example and attached it below. Check out Slide 3.1 for the references.
