Screencast editing

Is it possible to edit out sections of a screencast video, say 5 seconds, from the middle of a video. If not, is it possible to jump over a section within a video using cue points on the timeline or use some other method to do the same thing. I'm trying to avoid remaking the entire video/screencast.
