What kind of tablet isn't allowing you to search the site? I don't search too often off my tablet, but you may also want to use the search method described here if the built in search is causing difficulty.
As for the e-learning examples, is there a specific one you're trying to access?
I am using a samsung tab pro....seems to be the case for any samsung device. I contacted their support but no resolution. It works perfectly with Apple tablets.
As for the examples such as that one, I'm not certain that the user published for accessing on a mobile device so you may want to reach out to them specifically in that example.
Thank you. It seems to work perfectly on the IPad so I was just curious if anyone was experiencing the same issue. but i do understand the issue may be publishing for a mobile device.

I have three mobile devices, 2 Android and 1 iOS. The community site doesn't work properly on any of them, Search being just one of the issues.
