Seekbar not working

Nov 27, 2017

Hi -

I have a video from a client that I put into Storyline for closed captioning, and then into Rise for a workout we're building for them.

I added closed captioning and the seekbar without a problem. Then I added a "click the video to start playing" feature, so that it would not play automatically, and that was fine. However, when I put it into Rise, I notice it has the CC, I have to click start to play...but the seekbar doesn't let me scroll forward or back in the video, if I click ahead it just keeps playing where I am.

Is there a fix for this?

Thank you

Hi Debbie!

That's a great question. When you set up a video to play "when clicked", the video will play separately from the slide timeline. In other words, scrubbing the timeline back and forth will not rewind or fast forward the video.

Instead, enable the video controls below the video so you can use the video seekbar to move forward and backward.

Give it a whirl, and let me know if that helps!

Hi there,

Building off of this question...

I have just an audio clip in Storyline and have the volume and seekbar in the player. When I preview or put this into Rise, it starts playing automatically, forcing the user to have to click pause.

Is there a way to have the seekbar feature start on a pause, so that the participant can click play on their own time, when they're ready (as opposed to it starting right away). I tried building in a trigger too, but then the seekbar didn't align with the audio. I see above under options there was a way to have both, but that was for audio - wanted to know if there's a way to have the participant click play when ready, while still keeping the scroll feature, in just an audio file.

Thank you.
