Serious issues importing ppt/presenter files?

Apr 15, 2013

This is my first time importing PowerPoint slides into Storyline. I'd used Articulate Presenter to sync some audio in the PPT slides and was pleasantly surprised when the audio successfully imported along with the slides. I added a video to the project, and now the file is crashing like crazy. Last week, I was having a number of issues when trying to listen to the audio in the viewing pane. This week, there's just a big red X over the timeline panel. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here....

Anyone experience this before?

Many thanks,

Lauren

Sorry to hear about the trouble, Lauren.

I'd first try running a quick repair of the software. Then, please be sure to follow these general tips to avoid strange behavior:

1.  Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.

2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

3.  Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

If you're still having trouble, please feel free to send your .story file over to us so we can do some testing on our end.

Thanks, Lauren!
