Shared Story File Looks Different on My PC
Jan 18, 2016
My co-worker and I both have Storyline 2. I have always kept up with the updates; however, he is still on the original version of Storyline from over a year ago. He shared one of his stories with me so that I could load the course on to the LMS. He published his course to HTML and had our IT Department put it on our portal for our external clients to access. The story file and the course look fine for him on his PC and on the portal. However, when I open the story on my PC, there are issues with the text boxes where the words go outside of the text box and it also looks this way when I publish it to the LMS and launch the course from the LMS. Is this happening because he is working from the original version of Storyline 2 and I'm working of an updated version? Either way is there a way to fix this issue? The settings for the font size and paragraph are the same, so I'm unsure why they are different for each of us.

Hi LeAnn,
Likely yes - as each update includes new features and bug fixes, so to ensure that there are no problems, you'll need to look at ensuring you're using the same update. You can see all the updates and information included here in the release notes.
Thank you for your quick response. I have forwarded this information along. If he updates his Storyline to the latest update like mine is, and then shares the files again, when we open the same file we should see the same thing, correct?
Hi LeAnn,
You should both see the same thing - but it may not match what was initially created in Storyline 2 Update 1 if that is where the issue lies before. You will likely also want to confirm that you're working on local files and following this method for collaboration. You could also look at importing it into a new .story file as detailed here.
