Shortcut to change menu from restricted to free

Nov 25, 2020

Hi there. Is there a way to program in a command or trigger where the learner can "unlock" the course? In other words, change it from "restricted" to "free".

In our Lectora courses, we've configured a secret keyboard command that unhides a menu and allows us to navigate the course freely. This is so that we, as instructional designers, can easily navigate to any screen without having to go through the whole course first.

Is there an equivalent function in Storyline?

I understand I could publish a "restricted" version to the LMS and then publish a "free" version to our internal environment, but we'd prefer to be able to unlock it in the LMS version, too.

Thank you.

Hi Nora,

Thanks for reaching out! There's not currently a default way of allowing the learner to switch navigation restrictions. The restricted version allows for the learner to revisit slides freely, but not a way to switch from the beginning.

I'll leave the coding for the experts here in the community to share, and hopefully someone will chime in!
