SL3 : Importing Quiz Questions from txt with Try Again responses?
Dec 21, 2017
I have recently discovered the fantastic option of importing quiz questions from a specifically formatted text file (https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-2/articles/importing-questions-into-articulate-storyline-2#txt)
and am wondering if there is a way to account for questions allowing 2 attempts?
The current example shows a wrong answer and it's accompanying "You're Wrong" response, but no option for a "Try Again..." response, and then a "You're Wrong...".
For example :
MC
5
Who was the first President of the United States?
*George Washington | That's correct!
John Adams | So close! John Adams was the second President and the first Vice President.
Thomas Jefferson | Actually, Thomas Jefferson was the first Secretary of State. He was also the third President.
I'd like to have this question have 2 chances. Can I say something like :
MC
5
Who was the first President of the United States?
*George Washington | That's correct!
John Adams | It wasn't John Adams... Try again! | So close! John Adams was the second President.
Thomas Jefferson | It wasn't Thomas Jefferson... Try again! | Actually, Thomas Jefferson was the first Secretary of State.
Is this possible?

That's a great question Katherine.
By default, users get one attempt for each graded question.
You would need to edit your attempts for this manually as explained here.
So there is no way to specify a Try Again response with the import option? That would be a great (and super easy) thing to incorporate, if you can attach the other lines to layers already in the import. FEATURE REQUEST!
Love the idea Katherine, if you haven't shared with our team already, you can do so right here, or I can submit it on your behalf! 😁
Thanks for sharing and keep the good ideas coming!
