I need to build a slide that has 2 hyperlinks and then two checkboxes. User must click on both hyperlinks and check both boxes before they can advance. What steps do I need to take to set it up. I am working with Storyline 2.
Strange....I deleted all other slides and kept only two but still the file size was too big. I have imported to a new project and deleted the voiceover and pics. Hope it works this time.
My question is similar, so I'll tag it on here. I did figure out how to use the true/false (or viewed/unviewed) variables to prevent slide advance.
However, I want to have a notification for users that next isn't working because they haven't viewed all the content. How do I have a message pop up if the click next, but can't advance because they haven't viewed something?
now that I've seen the file you could use variables or you could use states to achieve this. See attached Peek video. I've used states.
I created 4 offstage objects with a visited state and also triggers to disable the Next button when the timeline starts and then trigger to change the Next button to normal when the offstage objects are all visited.
One to show a message. It pops up when they click if the variables are not all set to true (if variable A is false OR variable B is false...). I would use a layer, because you can give it a timeline, and it will hide itself when the timeline ends and you can click on it over and over with just one trigger.
The second trigger is to advance if all the variables are true (variable A = True AND variable B = True...).
I see the same behaviour so I created another file and I changed it to use variables and the same thing happens. The variables against the two links are not triggering and I'm not sure why. Let me take another look at it
I tried having the links open in the same browser window but that stopped working altogether. I added hotspots over the text box links and that didn't work either.
I'm sorry I can't help you - you might need to log a ticket with support and see what's happening
Here is the latest file with all the things I tried (maybe it's just too early here in Australia and I'm not seeing the issue - sorry :-(

Hi Saadia
you could set a T/F variable for each object.
Thanks. Is there any tutorial on that. I have never used variables before. Still at Layers and Status stage :)
Will appreciate your help!
Do you want to share the .story file and we can help you set this up. Just use the grey 'Add Attachment' button at the bottom of the post.
Thanks a million!!
I have attached the slide.
Hi Saadi
that is a huge file size for one slide. Can you create a new project file and import in just the slide you need help with.

Awesome!!!
It works just like I wanted. I will definitely look into the states and how you have used it for future as well.
Thanks a bunch!
You need two triggers on the NEXT button.

Hi Laura
here is a sample I did recently for someone else. One slide uses states, the other uses variables.
Hope that helps
Hi Wendy,
The slides you sent work perfectly in preview but when I publish and setup in LMS the slide does not advance though all conditions are met. I tested on SCORM Cloud site and still getting same issue. https://cloud.scorm.com/sc/InvitationConfirmEmail?publicInvitationId=eaffc781-1ba4-4804-b684-b450f7dcd7c7

I re-created the same slide several ways using status visited as a condition but it either freeze or does not open hyperlinks. Not sure why!
I had similar issues with another created course. I do have the latest updated Storyline 2 version that I use.

Thank you for all your time Wendy!
I have submitted the case with all details. I also tried to get it work in several other ways but no luck. Let's see what they say.
I will share here when I hear from them on how to resolve this.
Have a great rest of the day!

Thanks Saadia - will be good to know what's going on.
