Does anyone have the issue that when they create new slide masters unless they have an add media box i have to click into the slide master layout to be able to edit anything on that slide layout. This includes the text.
When you are creating a new slide master, are you using the Insert Placeholder feature? This should allow you to edit text directly on the slide without having to go back to the slide master.
