I am trying to make it so that someone can't
advance further in a Storyline presentation until they have spent a minimum amount of
time on a slide...any help??
Here's one way. This is a REALLY plain vanilla file. All function, no form!
Place a shape offstage and position it on the timeline at that "minimum". For the attached example, the minimum is 5 seconds.
Add a trigger that changes the state of the shape to selected when the timeline starts for the shape.
Add a condition to the "Jump to Next slide" trigger that says, "on condition the shape's state is set to selected.
If you'd like, you can add layer and add a prompt on that layer to explain to the Learner why clicking next isn't working. In the attached, the layer is called "not yet."
Try it out with the attached by clicking the Next button on Slide 1. You'll see that you can't advance to Slide 2 until 5 seconds are up.
Please shout out with any questions. If you're new to Storyline, that may be a bit overwhelming!
