Slides appear small in modern player

Sep 26, 2022

I'm trying to figure out why my slides appear very small for some users. On my monitor they look fine, but for other users most of the window is taken up by the player surround. (See attached image). Is there a setting I can change or something I can do differently to change this? The screenshot here was taken from Review360, but it looks just about as bad in the LMS. It is slightly better when using the classic player instead of the modern player.

Thanks!

Hi, VLS Bztwo,

Thank you for reaching out!

If your design allows, you can remove the player's menus and controls, maximizing the content.

Take a look at this article that describes which elements add to the overall size of the Modern Player:

Thanks. I removed the menu and the title, this but it didn't make a difference for the user. I really can't take the next/previous controls out, since the slides do not auto-advance and they'd have no way to get through the course. I'm wondering whether it is an issue with the way their browser is set up, since they're having other issues that people using the same browser do not.

Hi VLS Bztwo,

Thanks for giving that a try!

Is it possible that the users are using a higher Windows Display setting? If possible, they can try to set their scaling setting to 100%, if it isn't already.

If that doesn't solve the issue, I'd like to take a look at your file to investigate this further. You can upload it here or privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete.
