Slides Out of Order

Hi Jenn. I see you have all slides contained in one scene. Would you be open to assigning sets of slides into their own dedicated scene?

Thanks for your reply, Daniel. I can try that, but  I'll be honest, in the four years experience I have I've not worked with scenes at all. Would it be difficult to transition them to their own scene?

Not difficult at all! It's simply a matter of creating new scenes by pressing the dedicated "New Scene" button under the Home tab, and then cutting and pasting your set of slides into the new scenes. You'll find this is a great way to organize your courses going forward 😊

In STORY VIEW and in the Scenes panel, Storyline displays the slides based on how they are connected. For example, in a completely linear course, the slides all appear in one straight line, and the numbers are sequential. When a course branches, the program does what it can to represent that branching. 

Your slides seem to be out of order because your triggers branch in various ways.

• For example, slide 1.35 appears under slide 1.45.

• They appear that way because slide 1.45 has a trigger that jumps to 1.35 when the timeline ends. 

As Daniel pointed out, putting related slides into different scenes can simplify the layout.

Bottom line: The slide layout that the program shows can give a helpful overview of how the course flows. Ultimately, the slide numbers don't matter. What matters are the triggers that connect them.
