So many questions...

Jul 25, 2015

I have been looking at Storyline for a couple of years and I am tired of having "Articulate Envy". (It's an ugly thing.)  I have saved my pennies and I am ready to jump in.

However.....

I am a technology integration specialist at a k-12 school that is...wait for it...a mac only school.  My main responsibility is faculty PD.  I have been providing them with very stale, boring, reading only tutorials.  I really want to wow them and  start using Storyline 2.

If I create the training on my PC and publish it through course sites (blackboard)will they be able to view it?

This is really starting to sound like a stupid question the more I think about it......

Storyline publishes web pages, so if they are running a supported browser (More about browsers here), they will be able to view it.

Test it on the intended platform before you turn it loose to them, especially if they are using iPads.

Caveats: If you plan for them to use iPads,  publish for HTML5, but NOT for the Articulate Mobile Player (AMP). AMP does not allow them to authenticate to Blackboard, and will not work.

It will work (some) using a browser and HTML5 on the iPad, but test it carefully, because some things are different. For example, if you include a hover interaction, on the iPad that is a gesture into. It takes some practice to gesture into an object and have the iPad read it as a gesture for the browser rather than moving the screen.

It seems that some browsers and versions, especially on the Mac, work better than others.

So test a lot, and good for you for wanting to improve your PD.

The best part is that you can download it and use it for 30 days . The trial version  is the same as the paid version, just that after 30 days you have to activate it or it won't run. During the trial, it produces real, full-fledged products. So download it and beat it to death for 30 days, and by then you'll know whether you want to pay for it or not.

And spend a lot of time asking questions.  You can get some incredible help here.
