When inserting screen shots, the image goes soft. When the image is opened outside of Storyline 3, it can be massively enlarged and the detail is there. And even working in Storyline, if the zoom feature is used to expand to 200 or 300 percent, the image clears up and looks sharp. But at 100 percent, and more critically, when published, the image is noticeably soft.
I have even tried resizing the image to the exact size used within Storyline, but it still goes soft when inserted in a slide.
Has anyone else had this issue; and in any case, how can I get these images sharpened up?

We do recommend using images that do not have to be resized in any direction. You can see this in our documentation here.
When you mention that the image is the exact size used within Storyline, are you referring to the image matching the slide size?
Please be sure you are not allowing the player to scale once published as well.

A large screen shot that is shrunk down will look odd because you have captured real pixels that are now having to display in less pixels
