Software Sim + Word Manual

Feb 19, 2021

I will be developing a lot of software training for our organization.  They would prefer a manual/job aids. I would also like to have screen recorded examples that allow users to watch and try the process in a simulated environment.

I am looking for a tool that does both so that I do not need to recreate the wheel and can speed up development process and possible edits in the future.

I love the documents/templates Snag it provides but there is not a simulation to my knowledge- they are just screenahot images used to create them.

We have a license (pending IT to install) for Storyline 3 where I should be able to develop the software simulations.

Is there a tool out there where I can record, add the tool tips, etc and export to Word for the manual? I'm having a hard time finding one. Years ago I used UPK that did this while part of a software implementation.

Hi Andrea, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are looking to do.

It sounds like you are already aware of the ability to record your screencasts:

Are you aware that you can publish your course to Word as well?

I look forward to hearing from others that may have a more comprehensive solution for you as well.
