Sound from file replaying

May 13, 2013

Hi there,

When we have a slide with a few layers of information, I've added a few triggers so that it will display 'Click the arrow to continue' and play a sound saying this when the content on each layer has been listened to using clear rectangles and visited states etc. (Hard to explain, but I've attached the story document so you can see. Basically, there is a text box on each layer that is clear and says 'click the arrow to continue' when it is on new state. It becomes new state when all three objects on the base layer (which display the three layers) are visited, AND a rectangle that is placed after the content on each layer is complete is normal. There is then another function which plays a sound from file when this text box is 'new state'. This works fine when you are clicking them the first time round, but when you are re-clicking on the layers to view the content again, whichever of the three slides you viewed last (and heard 'Click the arrow to continue for the first time) will then play 'click the arrow to continue' as soon as the layer is clicked (sometimes it does it on the second click of it), regardless of the fact that the layers are all set to reset to initial state, and the sound has been inserted from file and is thus not in the timeline in the usual way.

Its really hard to explain this without you seeing it, so I've attached the story file. I'm completely stumped and cannot understand why this is happening, any advice would be great please

Many Thanks,

Kerry

Not sure why you need rectangle 1,2 and 3 I cannot see any use for them it would also help if you named your object and states, it can very quickly get confusing.

I would have just showed a layer on timeline end of the audio only layers 1,2, or 3  if all buttons are equal to visited and set the layer to resume saved state so it only plays once.  This layer would have your continue audio and the state change.
