Starting scene doesn't show
Feb 02, 2023
Hi all,
When publishing my storyline, the starting scene (menu) isn't shown. It starts directly at slide 1 of chapter 1. I published the storyline before and it did start at the right point. I just added some javascript to track what my learners are doing, but now it doesn't start at my starting scene anymore. I have checked in storyview if the menu slides are still my starting scene and also if the triggers are still all in place and this is the case. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this issue:?

Is this a project you can share?
Hi Ron,
Attached the file.
Thanks for sharing. I know that if you preview the course it starts on the right slide, because the JavaScript commands are not firing.
It has something to do with the JavaScript. I am not savvy enough on JavaScript to know why. But there are a lot of different JavaScript commands in this file.
Hopefully, someone else in the community can be more helpful. Submitting a case might help, but the JavaScript usage might cause this to not be a good candidate for support.
the file was damaged (fixed version -> attachment)
how I fixed it
- delete chapter 1 + 2
- published to web
- undo delete (control-z)
now the course starts with the menu slide

Wow - great find.
that's amazing. thank you so much!
Hi,
I just had the same problem. When you're in the player menu, you can click on "menu" again (top bar, next to resources and glossary). Here, you can click on the folder symbol and add the starting scene so that it shows in the menu.
