States and Variables

Jun 22, 2022

I wonder if one of you can help me. I'm trying to create a lesson that explains how employees are assigned to sites in our software and I decided to create an interactive flow chart that explains hierarchy. I also want my learners to try it. This is where I'm running into a roadblock. I have a variable that is supposed to change when they have the correct elements selected. But the interaction shows the "correct" layer regardless of whether or not they got it right. I've attached the project, can someone take a look? Thanks.

One thing to consider: you are setting the variable to T or F but not excluding objects.

For example: if you set var to true if A, B, and C are selected, that doesn't exclude D, E, and F. Thus I can select all 6 letters and still meet the requirement of the trigger. You need a condition such as ABC are selected and DEF are not selected...something like that. Use not selected rather than normal.

Also, you can get rid of the reset triggers by jumping back to the slide and reset the properties to initial state. I'd also reset the variable to False.
